eHealth
The Information System of Electronic Health Services and Collaboration Infrastructure (ESPBI IS) is designed for centralised collection, storage and management of information related to health services provided in the Republic of Lithuania.
This system contains both medical information and administrative information related to the providers and recipients of these services; the ESPBI IS implements functions designed to ensure the ‘one-stop-shop’ principle for the ESPBI IS users, i.e. it has the necessary functionality to record the eHealth services provided to patients, as well as to obtain information on the services already provided.
In ESPBI IS, a patient accesses the Patient Portal, which provides information to the authenticated person about their health records, diagnoses, healthcare services provided, or those of persons they represent.
The ESPBI IS can be divided into two large logical parts:
- Integration space (a set of integration web services) for data exchange between the information systems (IS) of the HSIs (Health Service Institutions, i.e. hospitals/polyclinics) and the central system (ESPBI IS).
- Health portals, which are aimed at patients or professionals who do not have the HSI IS in their institution and therefore record information on their services using the ESPBI IS portals.
The ESPBI IS Portals consist of:
- A public portal containing general public information;
- A Patient Portal that provides information to an authenticated person about their health records or health records of those they represent;
- A Specialist Portal that provides functions for an authenticated specialist in the HSI to work with the information stored in the eHealth;
- A Pharmacist Portal that provides functions for an authenticated pharmacist to work with the information stored in the eHealth;
- An Admin portal that provides functions for system administration.
